A stage in the development of The Cloud, my project for Kunstmaand Ameland 2026.
During the summer closure of Willem Twee Kunstruimte, I was fortunate to use the exhibition space as a temporary studio for two weeks. A wonderful opportunity to work on a larger scale and further develop my skyscapes in ink and watercolour.
The Cloud takes its starting point from the poem of the same name by P.B. Shelley, in which nature is in a constant state of transformation, between appearing and disappearing. At this stage, I am exploring movement, evaporation, water and air – and how the landscape of Ameland, the salt marshes and the Wadden Sea gradually finds its way into the work.

Een fase in de ontwikkeling van The Cloud, mijn project voor Kunstmaand Ameland 2026.
Tijdens de zomersluiting van de Willem Twee Kunstruimte mocht ik twee weken gebruikmaken van de Kunstruimte als tijdelijke werkplaats. Een bijzondere gelegenheid om op grotere schaal te werken en mijn skyscapes in inkt en aquarel verder te ontwikkelen.
The Cloud vindt zijn oorsprong in het gelijknamige gedicht van P.B. Shelley, waarin de natuur voortdurend transformeert tussen verschijnen en verdwijnen. In deze fase onderzoek ik beweging, verdamping, water en lucht – en hoe het landschap van Ameland, de kwelders en het wad daarin steeds meer een plek krijgt.
