In nature, Reijnders encounters a primal force — something that nourishes, consoles, and sharpens the senses. Through sustained observation, drawing, and painting, her attention settles on a single element: the cloud.
This series emerged from encounters with clouds on the island of Ameland, where sea, sky, wind, and light are in constant motion. Clouds become fleeting presences — metaphors for the passing of time and for the fragile nature of what we perceive as certain.
Across the works, light shifts from gold to blue, from the last warmth of the evening sun to the stillness of moonlight. The cloud appears as breath, as a momentary presence, as a vessel for memory and silence.
Never fixed, always becoming and dissolving, it exists only for a moment — an encounter with what is there, before it disappears.
